UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL AGRARIA LA MOLINA

In 2023, I was invited by architect Nicolas Hünerwadel to contribute to a series of artist talks and workshops within the context of a new Master’s program in Landscape Architecture.

Through an artist talk, campus walk, and performance developed with local dancers, the workshop explored architecture and landscape as experiential systems, approached through movement as a research tool rather than representation.

The architect Nicolas Hünerwadel was commissioned by UNALM (Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina) to develop the program for a master’s degree in landscape architecture. Within this framework, panel discussions, artist talks and tours of the campus took place on March 30 / 31, 2023. With the intention of suggesting to students other ways of looking at landscape and architecture, artists, architects and dancers were invited to exchange on the topic. As host of a residency I did at Sutra House (2021), which was crucial for the dialogue between movement and architecture in my artistic process, Hünerwadel engages with my work. On this basis he invited me to be part of a first workshop at UNALM. During the one-hour Artist Talk, we talked about interdisciplinary and cross-media methods and their potential for research. In a second part, I performed with a group of six local dancers whom I have worked with during my two-week stay in Lima. In the form of a tour on the campus, we entered into a dialogue with the landscape and architecture through dance.
